How we work
Most young horses do not fail because someone did the wrong thing. They fail because someone did the right thing too fast. Confidence, softness and body control take repetition, and repetition takes time.
We take a small number of horses so each one gets ridden thoughtfully and brought along at the pace it can actually absorb. 120 days will get a colt riding around. A full year is what it takes to get one good, and that is what we want when we can have them.
What we do
Starting two-year-olds is the heart of our program. We also take a limited number of older horses for foundation and finishing work.

Horses here are fed quality alfalfa and a standard Purina Strategy ration, kept in clean stalls with good water, and looked after daily. Care is not a line item — it is most of what a young horse’s progress depends on.
About
Monte is a lifelong Texan who has spent years learning from and riding with horsemen he respects. His strength is putting a handle and a foundation on a horse that the next person can build on — colt starts, late starts, and finishing work.
For years, Glosson Livestock has bred, raised, started and developed its own performance prospects. The broodmare band includes Savannah Blue Rey — a known Dual Rey daughter who has won $67,919 and produced over $130,000 — along with Sheaz Dulin CD and SP Hotify.
Your prospect gets treated like one of ours, because for a long time ours were the only ones we took.
